ZIPANG COAT was developed around gloss, wetness and depth of paint, and around a concept unlike conventional hard ceramic coatings: semi self-healing.

ZIPANG was not developed to compete on numbers such as years of durability or coating hardness. What matters to us is the beauty you feel the moment you see the car. We do not believe that the hardest possible film is the only answer to paint protection. Paint is exposed to UV radiation, acid rain, alkaline contamination, oils, minerals, wash-induced scratches and temperature changes, so ZIPANG was designed as a flexible sacrificial coating that also changes the appearance of the paint.

Gloss and depth
Version 2.0 focused on gloss and depth of paint. Once applied, the paint develops a wet-looking finish. On darker colors such as black, red and blue, it can make the paint look deeper and richer, an effect often described in the U.S. market as the "darkening effect." It is not only about reflecting more light: it gives visual depth, as if the paint were one shade richer.

ZIPANG COAT 2.0 emphasizes:

On paint that has been properly refined by polishing, the finish has a texture different from conventional waxes or ordinary glass coatings. We are not looking for a higher reading on a gloss meter. We are looking for the presence you feel when you view the car from several meters away.

Semi self-healing
ZIPANG's coating film can re-level itself when a certain amount of heat is applied, which helps reduce the appearance of fine wash marks and microscopic scratches on the coating surface. This does not mean deep scratches in the paint will disappear, and it does not mean scratches vanish completely. Results may vary depending on installer training, application environment and paint condition.

MIYABI × ZIPANG
ZIPANG COAT can be used on its own. We also layer coatings with different characteristics: MIYABI COAT as a base layer, with ZIPANG COAT over it, combines MIYABI's foundation with ZIPANG's appearance, hydrophobicity and flexibility.
