THE d'ELEGANCE DETAILING
BY KAI MORITA PRIVATE LABEL
KIKUSUI LABEL - THE d'ELEGANCE SERIES is a special brand series created by founder KAI MORITA under his private label, with the aim of winning the Concours d'Elegance, which is the specialty of the Kamikaze Collection.
A step up in water polishing finish
The CEO was 20 years old.
He was passionate about shoe polishing, and in order to see the techniques of various professionals, he asked several famous shoe polishers to help him.
The common thread was that the final process was a finish using water.
I have since been researching water, hard water, soft water, or polishing water containing slurry abrasives, and water containing radon stones and tourmaline stones for my own polishing and coating wiping.
It's just water, but it's still water.
I remember in my youth researching how this slight difference determines the quality of the final process.
In terms of products we have released in the past, we have KMKZ ION WATER and KAMIKAZE COLLECTION Polished Crystal Water. . .
It is no exaggeration to say that water determines the final finish.
"Water" for wax finishing
15 years ago, there was no polymer wax or ceramic wax.
Most waxes were hard. Microfiber was not that high performance, and the more carnauba used, the heavier the wiping.
So we used a microfiber slightly moistened with water soaked in tourmaline ore.
This allowed the residual components to be collected more smoothly and neatly than with regular wiping, and we were able to wipe away unevenness caused by excess components and holograms caused by volatile components.
The idea for this product was based on an idea that the CEO had more than 15 years ago when he was working with wax products, and it was commercialized as a "secret finishing". The relationship between wax and water
Wax and water may not seem to get along well, but they are actually good friends.
If you use the right microfiber, you can easily wipe off even difficult hard wax.
For the new second-generation "Fujin" and "Raijin", we considered the background of sacrificing workability by developing their characteristics too much, and thought about whether we could create a solution product with more modern materials.
The texture changes with a quick detailer.
Tourmaline water or alkaline water is too strong and affects the wax.
This is the idea we came up with.
This product does not have protective or water-repellent properties.
It is "water" with nano-materials dispersed in it for the final finish.
The terrifying power of boron nitride
First, we wiped off the excess wax with a dispersed boron nitride contained in Raijin.
How about it? The wax can be wiped off really easily and quickly.
In terms of feeling, hard wax feels more difficult than regular wax.
I also felt that the holograms that were created were kept to a minimum.
The unevenness that was intentionally created was also able to be finished as if it were wiped with glass cleaner.
Then, it was further polished with water sanding and wiped.
I witnessed how the gloss increased steadily.
When applying Raijin, it is not just wiping but also applying it that causes the applicator to be difficult to move and difficult to spread, which is unique to hard wax.
In some cases, water is sprayed while applying the wax to reduce application damage to the paint, but even in such hard wax applications and wet application, boron nitride uses van der Waals forces to make it possible to apply without resistance.
I felt that wax and boron nitride are a good match in every sense.
Thick, generous amount of boron nitride
For this production, dispersion instructions and material distribution were provided by Nanotraction Suzuki.
After testing at approximately double the dilution rate suggested by Suzuki-san, I personally believe that this is appropriate for wax application.
If you feel that the application is too thick, please reconsider your choice of microfiber,
or dilute with pure water.
In principle, dilution of more than twice the amount is sufficient for full effect.
Silica water is constantly generated with silica-eluting ceramic ore
Although it is milder than our product ION GENERATER EVo 2.0 because it is a natural ore,
the silica contained in ore generally does not dissolve into water because the crystals have a high bonding strength.
By blending silica components with different crystal properties, the silica (silicon) components gradually dissolve into the water.
What makes it different from regular water? It is the way it produces gloss.
When silica water evaporates, crystalline particles remain on the surface,
and on the painted surface, it penetrates into the fine unevenness of the painted surface,
creating a texture that makes you wonder if you have applied something or done something.
Most of our water-based emulsion products are produced using ionized or silica water according to this formula, but for this final product, the natural ore is placed in the bottle as is.
*When silicon is dissolved from the ore, countless air bubbles adhere to the inside of the bottle, but hydrogen is generated. There is no problem with the quality.
What is the finish of boron nitride + silica water?
As mentioned above, "wax finishing is water grinding," and this product can be said to fully meet the specifications that the CEO was looking for.
Of course, using boron nitride, a cutting-edge material made in Japan,
first of all, the strong insulator has a very strong destaticizing effect due to van der Waals forces,
which greatly improves the electrostatic charge that was considered a weakness of natural wax.
In addition, destaticization improves aerodynamics and improves driving performance.
We would like wax enthusiasts and experts to experience the meaning of using it as an application aid for wax, which is difficult to apply, and the water grinding finish that the CEO has been pursuing.
Of course, you can use it with other waxes as well.
I repeat, it's "water."
It has neither water repellency nor protection.
The specs are such that we can release this product as part of the Kamikaze Collection, and you can feel it immediately when you spray and wipe it off.
This exquisite balance is what makes THE d'ELEGANCE series, the CEO's private label, possible.
