THEORY

A legitimate evolution of THE VIKING PROJECT's 5.4 to 6.1

OVER COAT LIQUID 5.3 + Modified Fluoropolysilazane + Borophene + Titanium

I remember meeting with our Norwegian distributor, FINN. R. HANSVALD,

and during his visit to Japan after COVID-19, he requested exclusive sales of a highly durable, cold-climate ceramic protection for Scandinavia.

We have been continuing development of a product for northern regions in a piecemeal manner since 2024.

The water-repellent groups inherent to cold regions tend to close, rendering the water-repellent properties ineffective, and the slick performance in cold regions is virtually nonexistent.

We were considering releasing a surface coating that prioritized maintaining a coating that would last for more than one winter.

At the same time, when developing OVER COAT LIQUID 6.1, we aimed for high durability by eliminating the slickness characteristic of 6.0 through fundamental ingredient ratios, and deliberately adopted a 5.3 base.

We increased the surfactant content for adhesion to the paint surface and eliminated antistatic agents and protection in favor of these.

All changes were made while prioritizing durability and enabling application in cold climates.

The optimal solution after these efforts was VIKING COAT's emulsion-type coating, "LIQUID 5.4."

Furthermore, further material testing resulted in the addition of titanium, concentration adjustments, and the latest version of the Ion Generator 3.0.

VIKING COAT's development was preceded by a technological shift to OVER COAT CERAMIC -EVO-,

which achieved exceptionally high durability and solvent resistance for a water-soluble, solvent-based spray coating.

This product is a "hybrid" type that incorporates the water-soluble solvents of CERAMIC EVO into a LIQUID 5.3-based emulsion.

In addition to the chemical resistance provided by our proud raw material, modified fluorine polysilazane (free of PFAS, PFOS, and PFOA),

we have added the latest material, borophene (a monoatomic layer of boron, or white graphene), to enhance film adhesion.

At the same time, for sales to Europe, the United States, and California, we have reduced the amount of organic solvents such as nonane contained in the former OVER COAT CERAMIC as much as possible (this may be subject to future restrictions in overseas markets), and improved it to be water-soluble rather than solvent-based.

We hope to offer this as a new value, or a new phase, of the KAMIKAZE COLLECTION or OVER COAT.

Compared to the previous 5.3 series, the 6.0 series contains no anti-static or slick components, nor any nanomaterials other than borophane, which promotes surface bonding.

As a result, the 6.0 series tends to have a more reflective sheen than gloss. It lacks slickness or slipperiness. It is performance-focused.

The ingredient ratio and finish are also very specific, tailored for the international and Nordic markets.

Durability has been significantly improved in terms of alkali and solvent resistance.

In particular, it boasts the strongest resistance to salt (potassium salt) and alkali resistance in the series.

It also features an extremely fast surface cure rate, approximately 3 hours after application.

We recommend using it as a sacrificial coating for curing ceramic coatings in northern regions, or as protection before curing.

It can be applied as a sacrificial coating until the new OVER COAT CERAMIC -EVO- fully cures. (We now recommend outdoor application.)

KMKZ WATER SPOT (our acid cleaner) is also effective in removing mineral stains, even when diluted with 50% water.

Maintenance with KMKZ ACID SHAMPOO and KMKZ QUICK DETAILER is generally sufficient for mineral stain removal.

Resetting can be achieved with the existing KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE and KMKZ PAINT CLEANSING.

Equipped with ION GENERATER 3.0

This model is equipped with the latest version of the ION GENERATER, version 3.0, which was the greatest feature of the OVER COAT LIQUID series.

While the emulsion of previous models became slightly alkaline, this model is slightly acidic.

This material is essential for optimizing the ionic value of the OVER COAT LIQUID series' water-soluble emulsions.
It adds negative ions to the silicone molecules themselves, supporting the action of minimal surfactants. Its mild acidity improves application and removes inorganic mineral contaminants, preventing unevenness without the need for organic solvents.
Essentially, it aligns the ions in the liquid and activates the clusters in the water.
This "ion control" is the key to this product's greatest feature: its stain-resistant properties.

How to properly form a sacrificial coating during the winter.

Prepare two microfiber cloths.

Spray onto a wet car body after washing, or

Apply to a damp, wrung-out microfiber cloth and spread it over each panel.

Wipe with a second, dry microfiber cloth.

Avoid exposure to rain or water for three hours after application. Full cure time: 10 hours

Further surface preparation with KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE is recommended to fill minor scratches and create a smooth base.

Preparation with KMKZ PAINT CLEANSING is recommended to remove any deteriorated wax or coating.

We recommend using KMKZ QUICK DETAILER for maintenance and long-term durability.

[Application Environment]

This product forms a tough coating, but it can be delicate to apply. Please pay attention to several points for reliable application.

Initial cure time: 3 hours, full cure time: 10 hours (car washable)

Applicable temperatures: 5°C or above. After application, place in the hot sun to accelerate cure.

Recoating is possible after 12 hours. Two coats are recommended.

*When applying during the winter, be careful of temperature and moisture (frost, etc.).

Applying with a sprayer may result in adhesion to paint coatings, glass, and other surfaces.

It is better to spray onto the applicator rather than directly onto the body.

Also, applying with a dropper consumes less liquid, so we recommend it.

FAQ

Q. Can I reset my car with KMKZ AMAZING GALAZE or KMKZ PAINT CLEANSING?

A. Yes, you can. You can reset it just as easily as before.

Q. How is it different from OVER COAT LIQUID 6.0?

A. This is a performance model specialized for solvent resistance and durability. There is no longer any slickness or slipperiness felt after application. Unlike 6.0, the water-repellent properties are similar to those of CERAMIC EVO, with a rounded, spherical finish.

Q. How is it different from OVER COAT CERAMIC -EVO-?

A. This product forms a film using some of the film-forming ingredients contained in OVER COAT CERAMIC -EVO-. As an emulsion type (a mixture of water and silicone that becomes cloudy due to emulsification), it is highly resistant to unusual alkaline and acidic cleaners. However, like the previous LIQUID series, it is easy to apply. However, it does not offer the same absolute durability or protective performance as CERAMIC EVO. CERAMIC EVO offers the ideal protection. We recommend applying CERAMIC EVO as a sacrificial coating during the initial drying process, which is difficult to achieve in certain environments.

Q. Although a coating is visible on the paint surface 12 hours after application, it exhibits poor water repellency or lacks chemical resistance.

A. This is likely due to poor application caused by temperature or contact with moisture. Alternatively, the base may have deteriorated and developed a mille-feuille-like coating, requiring a reset. We recommend re-preparing the surface and reapplication.

Q. How many applications can be achieved with one bottle (300ml)?

A. It is possible to apply this solution to more than 10 standard-sized vehicles, but when applying this solution, be sure to apply a sufficient amount evenly. A thin coating will result in poor application. From the second layer onwards, you only need to spread it thinly.

Q. What products are recommended for applying this product?

A. We recommend degreasing before application, using an applicator to ensure even and generous application, and using four microfiber towels for efficient wiping.

Q. During application, I noticed a haze that wouldn't go away even after wiping, as well as uneven application.

A. A small amount of KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE can remove the haze, but we generally recommend re-application. When re-application, we recommend degreasing with KMKZ PRIMER DEGREASING.

Q. Can this product be applied without resetting?

A. We recommend preparing the surface with KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE. In both cases, degreasing with KMKZ PRIMER DEGREASING is essential.

Q. Can it be applied to surfaces other than painted surfaces, such as glass, black resin, and wheels?

A. We do not recommend application as it does not contain any solvents or surfactants that are effective against these surfaces.
