OVER COAT Chapter 6: True "Improvement" and a "Masterpiece"
Version 5.2 was released as an improved product in May 2023. Development of the next-generation "Liquid 6.0" began in early 2024, alongside Sealant 6.0. After nearly a year of development and refinement, we arrive at January 10, 2025, at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
THE MASTERPIECE
The KMKZ TEAM is proud to announce the release of a product truly worthy of this title.
6.0 has undergone a nearly complete overhaul. We hope you enjoy the further improvements.
KMKZ BOROPHENE POWER!
2025 New Kamikaze Collection: New Material Concept
Experience the hard and unique texture achieved with the latest nanomaterials.
Borophene Formulation
While "graphene," a next-generation nanomaterial, is a carbon-based nanomaterial formed into a honeycomb sheet, "borophene" is a metal-based nanomaterial structured in a near-honeycomb arrangement of boron, not carbon. Compared to graphene, its metallic properties give it even higher conductivity and flexibility. It's gaining attention as a novel material for Tesla battery components and various nano-industries, with only seven companies worldwide capable of manufacturing it.
We collaborated with a factory specializing in water and solvent dispersion and achieved stable dispersion of borophene, surpassing carbon-based nanomaterials in our tests. This led to its adoption due to the resulting anti-static properties and improved surface lubricity.
In addition to borophene, we've included multiple nanomaterials, including boron nitride.
A New Level of Sacrificial Coating
One function of borophene and boron nitride is conductivity. While we incorporated surfactants and additives for anti-static functionality, developing compatibility with the new silicone emulsion proved challenging.
We took three steps forward, two steps back... sometimes two steps forward, two steps back. Through weekly real-world vehicle testing, we finally achieved stable dispersion.
Our strength in refinement and development lies in finding the right formula when something feels distinctly different.
ION GENERATOR EVO 2.1 Equipped
"ION GENERATOR EVO 2.0," our original negative ion generator, is essential for optimizing the ion value in the water-soluble emulsion of the OVER COAT LIQUID series. The larger container allows for a larger-sized generator, increasing its effectiveness.
It imbues silicone molecules with negative ions, assists the minimal surfactant activity, and improves application with weak alkalinity, eliminating the need for organic solvents while suppressing unevenness. Essentially, it aligns ions in the liquid and activates water clusters. This "ion control" is the key to this product's primary feature: its resistance to dirt.
Beyond Protection: Entering the World of Driving Performance
The combination of anti-static additives with borophene and boron nitride offers both coating properties and enhanced driving performance—a unique Japanese technology. Static electricity generated on the paint surface, glass, tires, and unpainted resin during driving creates significant resistance, affecting aerodynamics.
Reducing this air resistance and using the "ION GENERATOR EVO 2.1" to generate negative ions in water creates a synergistic effect. Discharging static electricity and improving aerodynamic characteristics enhances drivability in various ways, most noticeably in coasting feel when the accelerator is released, cornering stability, and straight-line stability. Furthermore, it suppresses turbulence caused by static electricity, improving quietness. Flow correction is becoming standard in racing, and these functional surface coating technologies originated in Japan. OVER COAT embodies these advancements with high-quality product realization.

An Extremely Hard and High-Resolution Finish
We believe no other water-based ceramic or silicone emulsion product achieves a finish this close to a "hard coating."
Using some of the same materials as our OVER COAT SEALANT 6.0, and increasing the quantity of those materials, has resulted in a finish approaching that of SEALANT 6.0. Moreover, you'll experience a hard, crisp texture akin to a "cured film," similar to applying MIYABI COAT + ISM COAT PRO (previous products).
We believe this hard texture is due to borophene promoting bonding with the paint surface. The slickness, unlike previous LIQUID versions, is also attributed to borophene.
Preventing Layering and Enabling Easy Removal
This product avoids the oily gloss and slipperiness easily achieved by excessive dimethicone. The "layering" phenomenon, caused by the accumulation of these easily oxidized silicones or silicone oils, arises from prioritizing immediate slickness and gloss.
Furthermore, our product is designed for easy "peeling" of the sacrificial layer. We minimize the anchoring function of surfactants and prevent curing or penetration into the coating. This allows for easy removal with our "KMKZ PAINT CLEANSING" and "KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE." Despite this, the sacrificial layer remains robust.
This product uses silicone with a very small molecular size. The gloss is brighter and more intense than the previous version, less of a "heavy" gloss. This results from further refining the molecular weight for better carbon nanotube dispersion. Larger molecular weights lead to a heavier gloss, increasing the risk of unevenness and requiring volatile components like alcohol, IPA, or naphtha.
This product avoids these organic solvents. It focuses on maximizing the "sacrificial coating" performance through molecular size and minimal surfactant use.
Use it for maintaining existing glass coatings or waxes. Our CEO, the developer, always uses the latest OVER COAT on his vehicle. The OVER COAT series incorporates KAMIKAZE COLLECTION's fundamental sacrificial coating theory and the latest technologies. Returning customers will experience the evolution and improvements, while first-time users can experience the so-called "Kamikaze Swamp."
You may find this version harder to apply than the previous one. The increased concentration of silicone resin and the addition of borophene can create some drag when applied with a microfiber cloth. Try a wet application, a new cloth, or a slightly dampened cloth for application.
