THEORY

What can a Japanese-made quick detailer offer?

The biggest change in this model is a new texture, achieved by adding a German-made silicone emulsion. This builds on the strong reception and ongoing testing of the German-made silicone emulsion and additives in the limited-edition OVER COAT MADLANE. We adjusted the concentration and specifications before adding it here.

The result is a new texture that keeps the quick detailer's signature performance: it forms a sacrificial coating while minimizing the layered, mille-feuille-like build-up that existing cleaner ingredients can cause.

PERFORMANCE

Across the series, the 1.0 model added cleaning performance to the "coating" function, and the 2.0 model added coating performance to the "cleaner" function. This 3.0 model carries that approach forward with a new texture.

To make outdoor application easier and help prevent streaking, we added a chelating agent with an acidic pH for added cleaning performance.

QUICK DETAILER

There are many definitions of a quick detailer: silicone-based, surfactant-based, strongly wax-like, formulated to remove water spots and oil, or almost entirely water-based.

Our commitment is to be "non-aggressive" toward existing coatings. A quick detailer should leave the base coating unaffected. It forms a very thin sacrificial layer, conditions the water-repellent base, adds a slight sheen, and cleans the surface.

The basic concept is the same non-aggressive theory behind the rest of the KAMIKAZE COLLECTION range, but this time we focused on making the coating easier to apply and more meaningful.

A NOTE FROM OUR CEO

Using non-Japanese materials in our products has always felt like a kind of resistance for me, or perhaps a question of principle. After wrestling with it, I decided to let the results decide: if the German materials in OVER COAT MADLANE earned high praise and held up well in comparative testing, I would have my answer.

After several months of negotiation and testing, matching the base agent of our flagship KMKZ QUICK DETAILER 2.0 at pH 3.9 proved so difficult that development nearly stalled.

I always expect more from a QD than the definition of a quick detailer allows: too much water repellency, too much cleaning power, too much change in texture. I want to stay true to that approach.

Once again, we've reached OVER COAT-level specs in a QD. The gloss and texture in particular set it apart from earlier models. For better or worse, the performance is completely different from the previous QD series, yet it was built on the same non-aggressive theory. In short, this is a bold product, and then bolder still.

We hope our users and fans feel a real sense of satisfaction with this product, and see in it the direction KMKZ is heading.

DIRECTIONS

1. Prepare two microfiber cloths.
2. Spray onto the wet car body after washing, or apply to a damp, wrung-out microfiber cloth and spread it over the car one panel at a time.
3. Wipe dry with the other, dry microfiber cloth.

FAQ

Q. Can I reset the paint with KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE or KMKZ PAINT CLEANSING?
A. Yes. You can reset it just as easily as before.

Q. How is it different from OVER COAT LIQUID 6.1?
A. Compared to the LIQUID series, this product emphasizes cleaning performance. It can help remove relatively new mineral stains.

Q. How is it different from KMKZ QUICK DETAILER 2.0?
A. KMKZ QUICK DETAILER 2.0 is discontinued. The base emulsion has changed from Japanese to German, and the cleaning ingredients have been adjusted, making the reaction slightly slower (milder).

Q. Can this be used to correct uneven application of OVER COAT CERAMIC -EVO-?
A. Yes. It can be used to smooth out streaks caused by applying multiple coats or by working on a hot paint surface.

Q. How many applications does one 300 ml bottle cover?
A. More than 10 standard-sized cars, and depending on usage, it can last even longer.

Q. What do you recommend for applying it?
A. To get the most from its cleaning performance, we recommend a microfiber applicator. For efficient use on a wet car after washing, we recommend four microfiber towels.

Q. I noticed haze and streaks that wouldn't wipe away. What should I do?
A. A small amount of KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE can remove the haze, but we generally recommend reapplying. Before reapplying, we recommend degreasing with KMKZ PRIMER DEGREASING.

Q. Can I reapply without resetting?
A. Generally, the cleaning ingredients can remove surface dirt, but for heavy contamination we recommend priming with KMKZ AMAZING GLAZE first.

Q. Can I use it on glass, black plastic trim or wheels?
A. It isn't formulated for those surfaces, so we don't recommend it, but it can be applied to them.
