THEORY

The water beading after a wash is why many of us love washing and detailing in the first place. How quickly and efficiently you can blow the car dry makes a real difference to the effort of every wash. And if that step could also help reduce the static charge on the vehicle, it would be even better.

This air blower is that ideal, built into a product. It took two years from concept to completion.

PERFORMANCE

Negative ion generation
A powerful ion generator releases electrons that combine with oxygen and water molecules in the air to form negative ions. When the airflow carries them across the paint, they help neutralize static charge on the surface.

High-output ionizer
A large ionizer is mounted at the rear of the unit. It is also intended for use on surfaces treated with static-reducing coatings, such as our OVER COAT products. Use it as a finishing step after washing, and right after applying a protective coating.

AIYA MODE: stronger airflow
Press the AIYA button on top of the unit to switch to a higher-power mode with stronger wind speed and airflow, for when you need extra power from a cordless blower.

Flat nozzle, made for car washing
The flat nozzle is shaped to move water droplets off the paint quickly, and its rubber design is gentle if it touches the body. A standard round nozzle is also included.

Compatible with Makita BL1860B batteries
It runs on Makita 18V batteries, which are widely available around the world. We recommend genuine Makita batteries.
Approximate run time on a full charge: 25 to 30 minutes (depends on mode and battery condition).

A NOTE FROM OUR CEO

Developing this ion blower took more than two years.

It began when a Chinese supplier showed us CAD drawings and a spec sheet for a new air blower. We used 3D-printed samples at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. Since then, we have modified the internal board to support an ionizer, and fitted a large brushless motor.

About the base unit
We chose a gun-style body so it can be designed with safety in mind: hair can't get tangled, and fingers can't reach the motor. For the motor and switch, we used a traditional, proven type, since touch panels and push-button controls tend to wear out under heavy car wash use. We also left out an LCD display and LED lights. Fewer wires mean fewer points of failure, so the design stays simple and focused on durability.

In every part of the unit, we chose safety and durability over raw performance.

When you switch it on, the speed ramps up gradually. We added that circuit on purpose, to reduce the heat caused by repeated current surges to the battery and motor.

We also made the battery removable, using the same Makita batteries as our polishers, to avoid the degradation and safety risks of a built-in battery. One battery is plenty for one wash of one car. Professional car wash operators will want several.

About the ionizer
While developing the body, we prepared several ionizers designed to work at their best within the 18V Makita battery, and chose the one with the most effective negative ion output. It pushed our budget to the limit.

In the first few tests, no ions came out at all, or they came out but the airflow didn't carry them. Looking back, it took some painful effort. I traveled to China six times for testing, and when the measurements swung wildly, we all groaned together.

The CEO and ions
I'm a skeptic by nature when it comes to ions and anything that sounds occult. Even so, I can say this is a spec where I could genuinely feel the effect. Dust seems to settle less, and the paint feels so smooth it's almost as if the finish changed.

Personally, I think this could become the ritual that closes out any coating or wax job. How it feels is subjective and varies from person to person, and we don't want to overstate anything.

About AIYA MODE
This special mode comes from my own way of living. It ignores the remaining battery level and simply blows at full strength for as long as it can. We didn't call it "boost" or "turbo", and I hope that says something about the KAMIKAZE spirit. The moment you press the button with the CEO's face on it and the airflow jumps, that's AIYA.
