Polishing does require skill and experience. But what matters even more is the triangle balance of polisher, compound and pad. We call this KAMIWAZA because it reflects that matching, matured further.

All for point-pressure polishing
Compared with typical pads, this pad uses a thin, firm material. Its very short pile reduces rotational resistance as much as possible, and leaves minimal buffing marks so you can move on to the next step.

KAMIKAZE COLLECTION defines point-pressure polishing as removing scratches at a point without losing the eccentric motion of a dual-action polisher. Everything in the design is aimed at that. If the pad is too thin, it leaves impact marks, and its own weight can cause deeper buffing marks. If it is too thick, it cannot follow point pressure and the eccentric motion is lost. The design is about that balance.

A material built for heat
The main feature of a wool pad is that it limits polishing heat. That suited sharp-cutting compounds, since wool keeps the paint from heating up easily. But with our compounds, it could not bring out their full performance, and in some cases left buffing marks.

Polishing is not only friction between the abrasive and the pad. In some cases, heat softens the paint as you polish, which can help adjust gloss and surface feel. What we wanted was the difference in finish that comes from this heat.

This is a pad for experienced polishers.

• This product is intended for paint correction. If you use it for DIY work, please take care with the paint film.
• It generates a lot of heat while polishing. For paint that is prone to grabbing, such as soft or low-density paint, consider carefully whether it is a good match.
